How to Sign Up for a Gordon Frost Tour: To join a Gordon
Frost Tour please complete & print a copy of the Tour Application,
then click Submit to secure a "Seven Day Hold" for the
number of spaces you need. Then immediately sign & date each
page of the printed copy of your Tour Application and mail it to
Gordon Frost with your nonrefundable but transferable $500 per person
deposit(s). Your requested space(s) if available, will be held only
seven days to allow your deposit and application time to arrive.
Please telephone Gordon Frost if you do not receive a confirmation
of your Tour Application within three days.
Non
Internet Sign Ups: Internet Sign Ups are new to Gordon Frost.
If you have trouble with the Internet Tour Application, please telephone
Gordon Frost at (415) 663-1919 to secure your "Seven Day Hold".
Then send Gordon Frost your nonrefundable but transferable $500
deposit(s) per person, immediately. If you need one or more Tour
Application(s), they will be sent as soon as possible.
Upon
receipt of your deposit(s) Gordon Frost will send you a "Pre-Tour
Packet & Reading List".
Your
Tour Application request will be valid once Gordon Frost receives
your deposit(s) and the completed, signed, and unaltered Tour Application.
Please sign & date each page.
Experienced
Leadership & Small Groups: Gordon Frost personally directs
each tour except when Gordon Frost appoints a guide to lead some
specialty days and optional tour extensions. Because these trips
are limited to a small size (15 participants) please request your
reservation as soon as possible. Enrollment is done on a "first
come, first serve basis".
Hotels:
Our hotels are selected for their ideal crafts & culture location.
Most of our hotels are medium range comfortable and pleasant hotels.
Rates are based on two persons sharing a twin bedded room. Single
rooms are available at a supplementary charge; please see single
room cost listed with each tours itinerary. Often, single
rooms are not as nice as double rooms; what you are paying for is
privacy.
Meals:
All breakfasts, farewell dinner, & some lunches are included
(please see tour itinerary for details); Drinks, desserts, and shellfish
are not included. Some lunches are picnics.
Transportation:
Transfers between hotel and airports are included when you are
traveling with the group on the same arrival and departure schedule;
customer will pay for own transfer and extra meals if not traveling
with the group. Most days are full travel days where we visit local
people and sites. Most of your travel is by bus, yet may include
small airplane, taxi, boat, pedicab, and other forms of local transportation.
Gratuities:
Tips to hotel waiters and porters to move luggage in and out
of hotels are included. Tips to waiters for food or drink not included
in the tour or tips to porters to store excess baggage are not included;
such tips are at your discretion. Tips for drivers, local guides,
and others will be at your discretion.
Air
Arrangements: Gordon Frost will send air travel information
including our groups preferred airline and its arrival and
departure times. Air fare many change until tickets are bought.
Please consult Gordon Frost before you buy any air tickets.
Photography:
We establish friendly rapport with crafts people and artist
in their homes and villages; photographic opportunities abound.
Learn
Language: Each day learn Spanish and even some Indonesian.
Not
Included: Not included in the cost of the tour are the following
costs: passport, visa, airport taxes, and items of a personal nature
such as phone, and laundry. Not included are neither some of the
meals (please see tour itinerary for details) nor tips to waiters
for meals that are not included; nor food items not on the regular
menus; nor drinks, desserts, shellfish. Not included are tips for
guides, drivers, maids, room service, storing excess baggage; nor
are charges for excess baggage. Not included are expenses for medical
and dental care. Not included is any insurance for trip cancellation,
trip interruption, travel delay, baggage delay, baggage theft, travel
accident, sickness, medical, or hospitalization (it is recommended
you obtain travel insurance that coverage for these items).
Land price does not include any airfare, airfare is listed separately.
Tour
Payment Schedule: To apply for enrollment send a nonrefundable
but transferable deposit of $500 per person.
150 days before departure an additional $700 payment is due.
Final
payment of the balance is due 90 days before departure. Gordon
Frost reserves the right to treat reservation(s) as cancelled and
to accept new participant(s) in the space(s) if tour payments are
not paid when due. Cancellation fee schedules may apply.
Cancellations,
Refunds, & Transfers: The deposit of $500 per person is
nonrefundable. Yet, if Gordon Frost receives written notification
that cancels your reservation at least 180 days prior to your tours
departure, a onetime transfer of this deposit (less a $100 per person
administrative fee) may be made to another tour date or another
person for a future Gordon Frost tour that will depart within two
years from the original departure date. All transfers require an
additional $100 per person administrative fee. A transfer with less
than 180 days notice before departure will be considered a cancellation
and a rebooking of a reservation and therefore all payments to date
are subject to the cancellation penalties below.
Any
cancellation must be by written notice received via the US Postal
Service at Gordon Frost, PO Box 666, Point Reyes Station CA 94956.
A cancellation notice received by Gordon Frost more than 150 but
less than 180 days before departure will forfeit the $500 per person
deposit. Refund of payment for tours and/or tour extension(s) after
that time will be calculated less the following cancellation fees
according to the date the notice is actually received by Gordon
Frost:
121 days to 150 days before departure: cancellation fee is 25% of
land cost
91 days to 120 days before departure: cancellation fee is 50% of
land cost
61 days to 90 days before departure: cancellation fee is 75% of
land cost
60 days or less before departure: cancellation fee is 100% of land
cost
Once
a tour or the tours extension(s) has started there will be
no refund from Gordon Frost for any unused portion of the tour or
the tours pre-tour or post-tour extensions. There is no refund
for the tour or the tours pre-tour or post-tour extensions
for any "no shows" including any "no shows"
due to delay or failure of transportation to arrive on time.
Small
Group Charge: The land cost is based on a full group of 15 customers.
To help insure that a trip will still go even with fewer customers
a charge of 5% to 10% will be made for groups of 12 or fewer customers.
Cancelled
Tours: It is very rare for Gordon Frost to cancel a tour. Gordon
Frost reserves the right, at his sole discretion, to cancel any
tour or a tours extension(s) before the tour or the tours
extension(s) starts for any reason whatsoever, including too few
customers or other circumstances which may make the tour inadvisable.
If Gordon Frost cancels a tour or a tour extension, your payments
will be refunded promptly. This refund will be the limit of Gordon
Frosts liability. Gordon Frost will not be responsible for
any expenses or damages incurred by a customer as a consequence
of any tour or tours extension(s) cancellation, such as the
cost expended in preparation for the tour including nonrefundable
or penalty-caring airline tickets, special clothing, visa or passport
fees, income loss or any other tour related losses or expenses.
Air
Ticket Refunds: Charges for air ticket changes or air ticket
cancellation are refundable or nonrefundable under the rules of
the concerned airline.
Trip cancellation insurance is strongly recommended; travel insurance
brochures that include trip cancellation insurance are available;
ask Gordon Frost to send you one. Please note that Medi-Care does
not provide coverage outside of the United States.
Responsibility: The customer understands and agrees that Gordon
Frost and his agents act only in the capacity of agents for the
customer and Gordon Frost and his agents assume no liability for
any injury, illness, damage, loss, accident or irregularity including
but not limited to whether or not caused by vehicle defects, default
of carrier or their personnel. Gordon Frost or his agents will not
be responsible for additional expenses due to delays, changes in
airlines or airline schedules, service, weather, strikes, quarantine,
war, political unrest, or other causes whatsoever. The customer
is aware that the customer will travel in vehicles and on roads
not up to United States standards. The customer understands that
Gordon Frost is not a medical professional and therefore has no
expertise or responsibility regarding the customers level
of fitness, medications, or inoculations the customer and the customers
doctor may decide necessary for the customers safe participation
on the tour. The customer should consult with the customers
doctor about customers fitness to undertake the tour and the
customer is responsible to follow the customers doctors
recommendations regarding the customers health for the particular
country or countries to be visited. The customer is aware that travel
in Mexico, Guatemala, Peru, Indonesia, and Bolivia is often at high
elevations. Once a tour or tour extension has begun if it is necessary
for the customer to leave the tour or tour extension for any reason
including but not limited to the tour or tour extension is beyond
the customers physical level, there will be no refund for
any unused tour or tour extension(s) or portion of the tour &
tour extension(s). The customer agrees not to hold Gordon Frost
or his agents responsible for any sickness or negative effects on
health or well being regardless of cause.
Airline Responsibility: The airlines concerned are not to be
held responsible for any act, omission, or event, during the time
passengers are not on board their planes or transports. The passage
contract in use by the Airlines concerned, when issued, shall constitute
the sole contract between the airline and the purchaser of this
tour.
General: Travel and accommodations where the tour visits are not
as safe or convenient as in the United States. Gordon Frost
tours are non-resort type tours. Itineraries are kept flexible
to allow for unexpected opportunities and to adjust to local conditions;
Gordon Frost and his agents reserve the right to change or cancel
any aspect of the tours travel or accommodations arrangements.
Gordon Frost reserves the right to change the size of the group.
Gordon Frost, at his sole discretion, reserves the right to terminate
the tour for any customer whos actions or general deportment
impede the operation of the tour or the rights or the welfare or
the enjoyment of other members of the tour, and it is agreed that
the customer shall not be entitled to any refund for any unused
portion of the tour or any expense reimbursement as a result such
a situation. It is agreed that the customer shall not be entitled
to any refund or expense reimbursement in the event that the customer
leaves the tour or the tours extension(s) for any reason whatsoever.
Any unused portion of this tour is not refundable, nor exchangeable
for any other portion of the tour. A customer occupying single rooms
because a roommate is unavailable before the tour begins or a roommate
becomes unavailable during the tour agrees to pay the supplemental
single room charge as stated in the tours itinerary or informational
papers. Late night departures (some departures may be after midnight)
are calculated into the cost of the tour. All rates are subject
to change without notice. Rates quoted are based on current tariffs
and exchange rates at the time the tour is first offered (June 1,
2003). Any rate increase will be the responsibility of the customer.
Luggage & Insurance: Every effort will be made to assure
careful handling of customers luggage and belongings, however,
Gordon Frost and his agents can assume no responsibility for stolen
luggage or belongings or damage to luggage or contents. It is each
customers personal responsibility to maintain the customers
own insurance coverage for whatever purpose desired. Travelers
insurance is strongly recommended. Travelers insurance
brochures that may include trip cancellation protection, baggage
benefit, sickness, injury, & medical protection are available.
Travelers insurance protection varies with each insurance
companys offer to provide insurance. It is the customers
responsibility to understand the protections that are being offered.
The customer should contact the insurance company directly for any
clarifications.
California Sellers of Travel Program: While California has established
a Travel Consumer Restitution Fund it does not cover non-California
residents, or foreign travel when the "providers of transportation
or travel services" are not registered Sellers of Travel in
California or contributors to its Travel Consumer Restitution Fund.
Since none of Gordon Frosts foreign travel providers are in
compliance with the California Seller of Travel Law, you would not
be eligible to make any claim from that fund in the unlikely event
of any default by Gordon Frost or his foreign suppliers.
