Warp preparation, Guatemala "Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I have enjoyed looking at a variety of South American textiles over the years but I have never seen such a large collection that we were allowed to touch, handle, and fully appreciate. Your talk was so informative; showing us so many varied and specialized techniques from the small country of Guatemala. I gained a much deeper respect for these not-so-primitive crafts from your presentation.
Speaking as a photographer, I have never seen a program with so many quality slides that were both informative and captured the human quality of a people and their culture."

Dianne C. Swanson
President
Weavers Guild of Minnesota

"Your presentation was well thought out and presented in a relaxing, informative, and interesting manner. You drew a large and interested audience and managed to prepare them well for our own upcoming textile exhibit."

Lynette Harper
Public Programmes Coordinator
The Vancouver Museum

"…I would like to thank you for your exciting lecture and presentation on Guatemalan Ikat… Everyone who attended felt it was well worth braving the pouring rain to view your superb slides and the many beautiful textiles from your collection. I was especially appreciative of your thorough preparation and professional approach, and Fiberworks is most grateful for the generous donation of your time and energy.
I strongly support your efforts to encourage a greater appreciation of the unique culture and folk art traditions of Guatemala, and I hope that you will continue to share your inspiring perspective to others."

Judy Alexander
Executive Director
Fiberworks Center for the Textile Arts

"On behalf of the Mission Mill Museum Association and the Salem Art Association, I would like to tell you how much the groups enjoyed your presentation… As you know, it was a strange mix of interest in the products, techniques and the people, and the other major group of interested in the cottage industry aspects.
As a consequence of your excellent presentation, the weavers and artists were pleased and informed, and the Northwest Textile Center supporters received much in the way of both information and inspiration. We were all most pleasantly surprised by the largeness of the turnout.
Your enthusiasm was a dominating factor. You so obviously love what you are doing that the contagion spread."

"Your slide show was the best I’ve seen. What a delight to have a program so well prepared."

"What a wonderful trunk-full of treasures you brought for our students to examine and feel! That and the wealth of information you imparted, made your visit to the Braille Institute one which the students will not soon forget.
We appreciate you donating your afternoon to be with us. It was great having the "museum" visit us. The weavings were beautiful. It was very generous of you to allow everyone to handle them.
You have a great deal of patience and understanding. Its not everyone who would be so at ease lecturing to an audience that’s blind and deaf-blind."

Anna Zinsmeister
Weaving instructor
Braille Institute of America
Los Angeles, California
